Squirrel cage motor for oil refinery (Sweden)

Menzel was asked to deliver a compatible electrical explosion proofed squirrel cage induction motor. Major adjustments had to be made within only one week. To fit the new motor into the designated place at a Swedish refinery not only the shaft diameter had to be adapted and the terminal box had to be changed to the other side, but also a customized adapter frame had to designed and built within only four days to make the new motor fit onto the existing baseplate. After completion, the motor was approved and certified by the Menzel experts for explosion protection and prevention.
