In one of Germany’s largest tire production plants, the rubber kneading machine is driven by two slip ring motors that are running at different speeds on one single shaft. A special challenge here is the state of the slip ring body, since one of the motors always has to run at a tensionless state. Menzel was asked to produce a completely interchangeable 10000 V replacement to the old motor, which was originally from the 60s. Since then the new drive is performing to full customer’s satisfaction.
