Trainee exchange within the MENZEL Group

One example of how seriously MENZEL takes this is our exchange program for young trainees. As you may know, MENZEL has had a wholly-owned subsidiary called Pawils Elektromaschinenbau since 2011. Thanks to PAWILS, we can offer an additional service to our customers in the German-speaking area with focus in revision, repair, and maintenance work for electrical machines.

Knowledge transfer is the key to our global success

During their 3,5 year apprenticeship the PAWILS trainees have the exciting opportunity to visit our new motor plant in Hennigsdorf. At the same time, the MENZEL trainees will get to know the processes and expertise at PAWILS in Peine, Germany.

Together, they train to become electronics specialist in motor technology and gain valuable insights and new facets of their future careers through this exchange.

  • For the PAWILS trainees, the focus is on the conversion and new construction of large motors in our production facility.
  • The MENZEL apprentices, on the other hand, will be immersed in the assembly, commissioning and maintenance of motors and will also familiarise themselves with obsolete motors that are no longer built today (except by us!).

We are proud to promote the active transfer of knowledge between our companies and wish our trainees a great time!

The job as an electronics specialist in motor and drive technology

The role of an electronics specialist in motor and drive technology is highly diverse and demanding. Key tasks include assembling, testing, commissioning, and maintaining electric motors and drive systems. At MENZEL, specialists produce windings and assemble mechanical, electrical, and electronic motor components for large industrial motors. In addition, they perform diagnostics and conduct motor tests.

This variety of tasks makes the job particularly multifaceted. As a result, the training period for this profession is longer than for many other occupations. However, this extended training provides an excellent foundation for personal and professional development in the field. International and domestic travel for installations and commissioning is often part of the job, as MENZEL motors are used worldwide—from Peru to South Africa, and from Sweden to Malaysia. While English skills are helpful, they are not mandatory for this role.

Our training is geared towards future employment at MENZEL following successful completion. We prioritize applicants with solid grades in mathematics and science (minimum grade 3) and a strong interest in technical and manual work.
